The Brief
14 June 2023. The day that John reached out to Luke with an idea….’Fancy setting up a filmmaking business together?’ to which Luke helpfully answered ‘yes’.
On the back of this decision, in a wave of planning meetings over Indian takeaways and Manchester coffee shops, Imprint Films was born. With John’s Dad repeatedly saying ‘Get through the first two years’…
Coming up to 14 June 2025 - John and Luke wanted to mark hitting this milestone. Going back to the very origins of the company itself, and taking a beat to celebrate all of the fantastic collaborators and clients we have had the joy to work with as the company grows.
Keeping it nice and local to Whalley Range and Didsbury, a team of 18 cast and crew (our biggest so far!) worked tirelessly for a 2 day shoot, followed by 10 days of post-production to ensure the anniversary wasn’t missed….
The Pitch
Asleep in his chair, Old John takes some well-earned rest in front of Imprint Films’ best bits. Old Luke brings him a brew and the two begin reminiscing about those first two crazy years. Heading out for a walk, Old John is repeatedly visited by long forgotten memories of everything the young company achieved. The two friends, taking a rest on a park bench, celebrate their first two years in business….looking back at the past, and ahead to the future….
The story was told in one 7 minute short film format, along with 5 scene setting, reflective teasers, dropped on social media in the days leading up to the anniversary.
